The Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Programme is accepting Stage 1 applications to this funding opportunity.

The HTA Programme aims to commission high-quality, well-designed research which will be carried out by effective and efficient research teams, providing findings which meet the needs of NHS and Social Care managers and leaders.

Improving NHSE Data Access Pilot

The NIHR are working together with the Data Access & Partnerships Team in NHS England (NHSE) to better align NHSE requirements for data access with NIHR commissioning processes.

This funding call will include a pilot to support researchers in making data access requests by identifying any potential issues and resource impact earlier in the process. If your research will require access to NHSE data, please refer to our NIHR & NHS England Improving Data Access Pilot webpage for further details of the pilot.

Timescales

Any changes to these dates will be emailed to all Lead Applicants with an application in progress.

  • Stage 1 deadline: 1pm, 4 September 2024
  • notification of out of remit/non-competitive decision if unsuccessful: early November 2024
  • notification of Stage 1 shortlisting decision: November 2024
  • Stage 2 writing window: November 2024 to January 2025
  • notification of Stage 2 funding decision: late March/early April 2025
  • start date for funded studies: December 2025/January 2026
